Over 60 school girls receive re- usable sanitary pads

Pupils and staff at ST. Kizito Malongo Primary school in Kigenyi Village Malongo sub county Lwengo district were roofed with happiness few weeks back when Infinity Network Development Foundation Uganda (INDF Uganda) a non-profit organization that operates in three districts; Lwengo, Bukomansimbi and Masaka district provided re –usable sanitary pads to over 60 pupils in upper primary.

The Organisation aims at promoting improved livelihood and welfare of people in the community through improved education and health of members.

While giving out the pads to girl children, INDF Executive Director Mr. Isabirye Aron urged ST. Kizito Primary School administration to work hand in hand with parents so as to enable girl child education which is majorly interfered by a few things such as lack of sanitary pads during their menstrual periods.

“We call upon parents, local leaders and other stake holders to extend their helping hand towards this young generation (girls) if we are to build their future” Mr. Isabirye said

Namutebi Betty 13, p.7 stressed that it’s her first time to see sanitary pads and it was her second year experiencing periods noting that she has been using cotton and woolen clothes during her menstrual periods.

According to the school Deputy Ms Judith Tibaryebwa who doubles as the school senior woman thanked INDF-Uganda for the helping heart. God Bless Hands of Mr. Isabirye Aron, ‘said Ms. Tibaryebwa’
